I have worked for over 20 years as an actress in theater, film, television and commercials. Some of my notable roles have included playing Lady MacBeth at Capital Reperatory Theater, Rabbi Deena Golden on the TV soap opera "Guiding Light," and the title role of Nancy opposite Hardy Kruger, Jr. in the Zieglerfilm "Nancy and Frank." I have also been featured in numerous on-camera commercials. I have been a life-long political activist. I organized groundbreaking AIDS education efforts at my high school in Arlington, MA in the 1980's, served in a leadership role in the Lesbian-Bisexual Alliance at my alma mater Smith College, and participated in civil disobedience actions opposing the US invasion of Iraq. I fused my documentary work with activism as a producer of the award-winning documentary "Civilian Casualties" and the DeepDish TV series "Shocking and Awful" (Episode: "Standing with the Women of Iraq" as a contributing producer of footage shot in US-occupied Baghdad in 2004.) In another documentary project, I worked undercover to expose abusive and illegal labor practices at a very large American corporation. In addition, I have worked as a yoga instructor, specializing in prenatal yoga and birth preparation. Both of my children were birthed at home in what I can only describe as the most empowering and magical experiences of my life. Outside of the booth, I love hiking, camping, traveling along backroads, digging in the garden, and spending time with my family. |
